The GDI Prima #1 Pin Series of professional hinges is able to accommodate 5/16 to 3/8 inch (8 to 10 millimeter) tempered safety glass. They are made of solid brass with all moving parts (pins and springs) in stainless steel. Prima Hinges are self-centering, with four springs for maximum retention strength. Some advantages of pivot type hinges include the fact that they carry the majority of the weight on the bottom, and have the ability to be inset from the wall, enabling clearance for towel bars and other projections. The Prima Series is adaptable to GDI's Deluxe Header System for shower enclosures not extending to full ceiling height.

GDI's 5 Degree Pivot Pin Set: GDI's 5 Degree Pivot Pin (Cat. No. P1VP1N) is installed to alter the closing position of the door by 5 Degree and insure a tighter door closure into the shower area. The Prima #1 Hinge is used with GDI's Prima #2 Pin Hinge to provide consistent top and bottom mount closing capability.

Using two hinges with 5/16 to 3/8 inch glass (8 to 10 millimeters) the hinge will hold up to 100 pounds (45 kilograms) with a maximum width of 31 inches (787 millimeters).
