Counter Balances are located on the left and right sides (sometimes above) of the top and bottom sash.  These balances control the weight of the sash allowing you to open and close the sash with ease.  A simple ideal can prove to be complex.  Many times these items break or wear out and need replacement.

Balance Guide Rivets are aluminum, 5/8 by 3/32 inch (15.9 by 2.4 millimeter) hollow-tip rivets used to install top and bottom guides to window balance channels. The H3740 installation tool is recommended for use when setting the rivet with the guide and channel. These rivets are also available in a bulk package containing 1000 rivets.

These Window Channel Balance Repair Kit consists of a top and bottom guide, as well as two rivets and a take-out clip. This kit is designed to be used with Window Channel Balances. The top and bottom guides being replaced should match the dimensions and profiles of those pictured on this page to insure the proper replacement of the window channel balance. This kit, along with the window channel balance, gives you everything you need for the replacement. To set the rivets in this kit you will need a H3740 Rivet Installation Tool.
